TRUE LIES is the connection between Disney, the military-industrial complex, family secrets and a refugee from the musical OKLAHOMA!
In the age of Bosnia and the Gulf War, OJ and Susan Smith, TRUE LIES places the intimacies of three men's lives at the epicenter of a media culture predicated on the hard-sell of half-truths and obscured facts.
TRUE LIES bends the line between fiction and non-fiction until it breaks and then pokes you in the eye with the stubby bit that remains. TRUE LIES is rigorous, anarchic, fast, fearsome theatricality.
The latest collaboration by the authors of A Line in the Sand (1995 Vancouver New Play Festival), TRUE LIES features Norman Armour, Camyar Chai, and Marcus Youssef, with video projections by Gary Coward, production stage management and technical direction by Michel Bisson, David Cooper, and John Weber, direction by Guillermo Verdecchia, and live music performed by Amir Koushkani.
