Rumble Productions is Vancouver’s All Terrain Theatre Vehicle. A multidisciplinary, mid-size performing arts organization, the company collaborates with visionary artists from Vancouver and beyond to develop, produce and present for the theatre and other media. With our community of audience members and artists, the organization fosters opportunities to explore perspectives on our collective history and responses to the events and institutions that shape our lives. The company’s goals are to:
Founded in 1990, Rumble has evolved into a company with year-round programming, a multi-faceted vision for producing and presenting and a wide array of organizational partners and supporters. Our annual programming includes the development, support, and production of plays and other events on stages around Vancouver’s Lower Mainland. Rumble also presents the very best of the next generation of theatre makers at our biennial TREMORS Festival. Collectively, these elements reflect a focus on new Canadian works and challenging works from the world stage, with a balance between mid-career and emerging artists and companies. Behind the scenes, artistic residencies and administrative internships are central to the company’s raison d’être. They embody our commitment to creative and professional development, where the goal is to enliven both the organization and the environment in which we produce our work. Touring and special projects are taken on as opportunities arise. From time to time, we take our work to a wider public at prestigious festivals and venues across Canada. Since its inception, the company has presented and produced the work of over 250 Canadian performing artists.
